Bluebird day in Mammoth
After 72 hours of snowy storm, today is absolutely gorgeous. It’s a shame the lifts aren’t running as some of the wind-blown terrain looks quite ski-able!
Here are some pictures from about 10am this morning. Notice the gates being installed by the lifts – these are the new RFID gates. According to Mammoth Mountain, “This season you’ll be able to ski/ride all day without ever taking your lift ticket/pass out of your pocket thanks to our new RFID technology and gates.” Exciting!
Looking at the forecast for the next week makes me wonder if the sparkling powder will stick around – solid sun and temps in the 60s. Can’t complain really, I could use just a bit more summer before winter officially starts!
